a keyword i picked is searched 250 times a day

    is this a good traffic keyword? this is a keyword that i have extenisive knowledge to build a website upon, but i just want to know if such a keyword can bring lots of traffic. so far on google and MSN i found only about 4 sites directly competing with my future site, out of the nearly 1 800 000 with this keyword.

    there are many keywords having thousands or ten thousands of searches per day ...

    if you are in the top ten SERPS or better "above the fold" ( may be top 3-5 ) then you may expect some 5-10% or so of the total search-traffic of that keyword toward your site ...
    hence one single such page is nothing spectacular yet
    hundreds or thousands of such pages make up a "fat cake" to live from

    Maybe just make a page on a site you already have....but not a full blown website.

    That is 250 according to who? Because different sources have different estimates.
