BE AWARE: There is a BIG BUG that is killing all search and WHATS POPULAR links.. The code is erroring, so you're being redirected to the home page.... It's been logged as issue 21. Thanks to the tester who brought it to my attention... More updates soon.... ************************************* 30 minutes later --- > ISSUE 21 UPDATE: CORRECTED AND CLOSED: Root Cause: Beta-Testers are not putting in a CJ Developers key.. This was causing the API response from CJ to barf... I've coded a catch for this... BUT BE ADVISED, IF YOU DON'T GET A CJ DEVELOPER KEY (which is free and takes 30 seconds using the link from the ADMIN screen) you can't show CJ products...
We're Sorry! An error has occurred. The details of this error have been emailed to the web site administrator. Please click here to return to the homepage. i dont know why, i have tried it many times. but still happend this error. please help me . thanks!
I figured out how to get the niche site working with and without www using 1and1. I will post a guide later to help others out, and for those who have similar domain companies.
Army - Great suggestion.. Make sure you submit a SUPPORT TICKET for that so we don't lose it... Merry Christmas everyone. Thanks a million for the help. You've generated great bugs so far...
Let me know what you've got! I'm trying to make it work also, but I have pre-exitisting PR on my page...don't want to mess that up!
FYI: If you are receiving error notices from the config page, chances are that your text is too long for any given form. Keywords, for example, will only take so many characters. Shorten them up a bit to see what works. Also, if you haven't figured it out for yourself, the adsense is as follows: Adsense for content> Link Unit> Horizontal> 728x15> 5 ads per unit (unless you want to change it up)
To setup your domain in 1and1 (and similar providers): Your main domain should be http://website.com Create a subdomain (New -> Subdomain) and make it "www", corresponding to http://website.com Now forward http://website.com to http://www.website.com (Forward (Http Redirect) to: http://www.website.com) Next, select http://www.website.com and change the DNS settings (DNS -> Edit DNS Settings). Change it to CNAME (under general settings) and make the Alias "c4us.compare4.us". Do all this without the quotes. Essentially, if www is not typed, it is forwarded to the www site which refers to the CNAME. If there are any problems, let me know.
I haven't looked into my store much yet (entered the details), but is it possible to change the color scheme or template? Or is the goal to keep a unified look? Also, I noticed the other beta testers and the compare4 site uses adsense in the form of 5 text links. Any reason for that? I went with the horizontal banner.
this is my site: http://www.onlinesellings.com but when i open onlinesellings.com, it showed error page. anyone know why? purdue512 : can you active my site? thanks!
(8:30 am) I'll work on this first thing this morning. ******************************** (8:50 am) Can't seem to find anything wrong with it. Are you in at this point?
He's in. It was an issue with nameservers last night. He was using godaddy but was pointing somewhere else.
Thanks ARMY... A few other things: 1) I'm going to break the SUPPORT TICKETS into two types - BUG and ENHANCEMENT SUGGESTION. I've gotten a bunch of both and think it will be helpful to track each separately... 2) Also - Has anyone tested the BLOG BLASTER automatic blog submission to Blogger.com? I'd really like some feedback on that. I think it could be a valuable marketing tool (possibly a link-building tool), but need some other opinions..
Is there anyway to add sub-categories to the sub-categories? I think it could be really helpful for some people’s stores. Thanks
I've never used Blogger, since I'm a WordPress guy. I never got started with Blogger because I figured if anything worked out there, I''d have to dismantle it and put it up on WordPress anyway. So, I'm wondering if it would it be worth it to set up a niche on Blogger just for the beta and then have to promote that.
Great... Out of interest, did you do a post to a single blog or multiples at once? ALSO: Beta version 0.31 went out today with various bug fixes.. Thanks for reporting all the issues. You can see full details in your support tickets.. FINALLY: I need some feedback on if you'd like an "Affiliate Manager Module" in this product. It would function the same as the Affiliate Program for Compare4.us. Your affiliates would get their Amazon ID in the link for traffic they bring to you... So essentially, a no hassle affiliate program because you would not be involved in the pay-out (it would be directly from Amazon to your affiliate). On the down-side, it means that your affiliates earn 100% from any traffic they send to your domain. But I've always seen that as a fair trade for the link-juice they are providing... Please let me know if you see this being of-value for the platform...
