Just to clarify, in England, we consider a billion as 1,000,000,000 Not 1,000,000,000,000 as some would like to have you believe. Or at least everyone I know would say a billion is 1,000,000,000.
I think here in England a billion in terms of money is one thousand million but a billion in terms of the number and not in money is a million million. Maybe wrong though.
I dont know what over the minds means but think if a thousand thousands is a million why cant a million millions be a billion?
Mathematics is clearly different in countries but why not say why a million millions cannot be a billion as in the UK this is what a billion in terms of a number is. So why cannot it not be? Use your knowledge in mathematics to explain.
In our Mathematics a million million becomes a thousand billion and not a million = trillion What devin said now is corect
100 millions is one hundred million. 500 millions is five hundred million. 1000 millions is one thousand million but not 1 billion (which would be 1 million millions) As if you look at the number 1 million, it takes one thousand thousands to create it. In correct mathmatical terms a million millions is actually a billion and this is how it is in the uk (but not in terms of money) Countries changed this for some reason i cant remember but was told at school had something to do with money though.
What waz dis thread about again??!!! So, what's better, a billion wackos, or a thousand million wackos!!!!
