Hi all, I'm working on a site -- but really once it's setup, i'd like the people who use it to take control of the managment. I'd like the users to be able to add new articles. Rate them, if they are inappropriate - remove them. Edit them. etc. Sites i can think of that work like this are wikipedia/digg/dmoz/youtube/newgrounds. BUT how do you keep certain people from just deleting everything. Or spammers just submitting 1000's of bad articles. Is there a formula to "flagging" before removing. Or aproval before articles appear on site. What have you used or advice or sites do you know that explain this. Cheers for any help.
I believe you still need to do the final confirmation task such as delete the post. For spammer,you can do the job easily by banning their IP so that they can't spam your site anymore.
With Joomla, you can set it up so that only registered users can post articles. You can also confirm the post before publishing. Also consider adding comments for articles. A good discussion can sometimes be better than the article itself. The better comment plugins have captha verification (the ones that make you type in a 6 letter code displayed in an image), to stop spam bots.
