A Guide To Sig Link Sellers

    Hi,

I am posting this guide based on my personal experience & thinkings. You may disagree with some of the points mentioned here.

The reason of this guide is to tell the signature links sellers that don't overcharge for their signatures, use their signature links wisely.

    Reason of signature links:

First of all forums are not for site promotions, they are for discussions and getting help. Signature links are just a bonus for members for their participation. You should participate and help others and not just focus on your no. of posts.

    When to sell links?

It is totally up to you that you want to sell links or not, but if you want selling links you should do it for a reason, not just for money IMO.

Here is the idea you can try.

For example you want to buy a hosting that costs around $60/year you can announce your 1 sig link for sale for $60/year. So that you can pay directly to the hosting company. Similarly if you want to advertise your site on other sites but don't have budget, you can then sell your second link for the same price that you need to advertise, don't overcharge.

    Give respect to advertisers/buyers

Advertisers or link buyers are also human being, they also work hard to make money, so when they come to you and buy a link you should cooperate with them and don't just overcharge. If you have thousands of posts you should not charge more, you should just charge what YOU need. Remember it is the FORUM that made you able to sell links and earn money, if it just disables your thousands of posts you will not be able to earn a single dollar.

Just ask for the money that you need to buy something else on the internet.

    ------------------

I hope you are understanding what message I am trying to convey :)

It's none of the buyers' business what the person selling their sig intends to do with the money. If you want my advice; sell them for whatever price you like and ignore this post.

Remember: Forum posting is not your business, your website should be your main business and you do buying/selling from your website. Forum participation should be just for giving/getting help.

Anyways, it seems like none of the member is agree with me. You can ignore this post and go and continue overcharging :p

I don't agree on second point, not only for money? but your sample is about using MONEY to pay for hosting. So selling sig is all about money in my opinion. You don't get it but you spend it on something else right away.

How can you know that the money charged for the sig link will be used for the purpose you mentioned? I dont think there is any way to know.

Sorry, but its a daft thread imo. Firstly, who cares whether people sell their sig links just for the money, thats their business.

Secondly, you say don't overcharge people, but thats not the case, sellers are having to sell for far less than what the going rate was a year ago ($0.01), so its more like buyers trying to get links for as cheap as possible rather than sellers overcharing buyers.

The price of the signature links is steadily decreasing everywhere and is same with dp also because it is determined by the demand and supply theory. The market forces will determine the price and there is no need to overcharge / undercharge it. If someone considers the price is too high, he / she may not buy it and no one is forcing to buy. This is just my opinion. :)
