Hey Kind of a plug i suppose, but the whole thing is free so it's really worth a mention. It seams like a great way to get reletive backlinks without the need to link back. You place a piece of code on your website, and any referrals you make through the banner gives you credit on their network, and these credits are used to gain backlinks automatically, minimal effort really for great relative backlinks. One I am currently testing out is ReceiveLinks, I am hoping it will be as effective as Direct-Link-Ads. Eric
You put code on your website which is basically a banner, a link back to the network, and one backlink to another member of the network in your category. Your website never contains more than one or two outbound links to other members, therefore your website isn't over-burdened with outbound links. You gain backlinks by referring people to the network and receiving credit. So, potentially if you have lots of people signing up to the network, by clicking through your banner, you will get an equal amount of new related backlinks. The more you help the network to create new members, the more you gain backlinks. Nobody links both ways (ie reciprocal). The system doesn't use a triangular method, 3 way etc). It simply assigns any new member as a backlink to someone with credit within the same category. The text banner allows you to have anchortext upto a hundred characters which helps with related keywords etc. The system works on a points or credits system, which means you get 1 credit for signing up, and then one credit each time you refer a new member through your banner. If the person you refer signs up under your chosen category, then they will link back to you. If not, then your credit will be used to get a backlink from a different website in your category, therefore keeping it all related. Don't see how you would get penalised for that, if so then I would think merchant websites would have a serious problem with text based links and banners from hundreds or thousands of affiliated sites. The links are completely random, no pattern can be found, and they are all in related niches/categories.
