A great suprise

Just recently I hit a spike of traffic for my very first website techstocksinvestor.com I was wondering where it all came from and I found that im ranked number one in google images for the keyword "itouch". I was so suprised because I had no idea that the image got indexed at all and I just put it as a thumbnail for one of my articles.

Do image rankings usually last awhile or do they frequently change?

I was thinking of selling the website how would this effect the value?

Is it hard to rank high for images?

It's easy to rank high for images, even when the image has no actual corresponding relevance to what is in the image.

Spiders have to rely on the content (text) that accompanies images in order to index and return them as relevant as they can't see image content.

Only if they got reported would a non corresponding image being returned for a search query lose it's ranking as far as I know.

google was showing image results before and they are showing it even more after their last caffeine update. from what i see so far, such ranking is not stable and may go away after a short period of time. unless you do some image promotion
