I run http://adrianape.com It's a free classifieds site for a small city that I live in. I just started it a few days ago and am still figuring out how to get people to post on it. I tried handing out some flyers today and haven't appeared to have a lot of luck with that. I just ordered a gorilla suit from ebay and it should be here in a few days. When I get it I'm going to run around main street and downtown in the gorilla suit with a sign that simply has the URL, my hope is that people will be intrigued and go to the site, word of mouth about the crazy gorilla, etc. My question is what are some good creative ideas or antics for me to do while in a gorilla suit, besides running around with a picket sign with my URL on it? I'm thinking about renting myself out for free to mow lawns, do physical labor, whatever someone needs done and wear my gorilla suit while doing it. I wouldn't charge for that, I'd simply be doing it for the word of mouth advertising. I'm just curious if people think this is a ridiculous idea or if they have some ideas of just what a gorilla should do. Thanks! Tim
honestly thats clever and all, but think about how many people you will actually run in to. Not more than 200 in a good day i'd say. A newspaper ad would be a great start. Alot of cold calls to restaraunts and mom n pops will help as well. Let people post for free to get it started, dont charge until it is popular.
