Lets not forget that Google have dumped hundreds of thousands if not millions of flaky directory pages out recently. It makes clear sense to me for them to now go out and replace those files.

The moon is in the right position right at this moment so I can post this...

I've got a relatively small site ( www.MakeOutSongs.com ), GoogleBot has sucked up over 400 MB in bandwidth from over 80,000 hits so far this month!

Oh crap, the moon is moving, have to hit the submit button quick!

You're all lucky. I have a stupid inktomi bot averaging as over 100 guests on my site at any given time every day for the past month and a half.

But no traffic from inktomi search :(

Getting the bot is a start. Then they rank you, and then you get the traffic.

My god, google is killing my sites. It has crawled over 8,000 pages just on one site since midnight last night, and it's not stopping. My poor server is being hammered. :/

Based on the pattern of Google indexing my site -- I got a whopping 300 one day, 200 another, etc. Hey, I never said it was science, bub.

Okay, forgive me for this is off topic.

But how do you guys track how many pages have been indexed so far? Ok, let say i launch a new site today, then tomorrow, assumed google has indexed 10 pages of my site, but then how do you know?

Do you guys do a site command? But how would you remember the different keywords and pages indexed? What kind of tools do you guys use to keep track?

I just type site:site.com and it shows each of the indexed pages across the site, regardless of keyword.

And as far as keyword ranking, I wrote my own scripts to track where I stand on specific searches.

shall I be the first to post this one then: Can't wait for the next PR update!

(well, actually that's true, but only for the co-op weight... got some sites index properly with PR0 and will gain some weight with a decent PR..)

man, google is updating - spidering - drinking beer - ranking all the time .. just let it do it's thing, check the SERPs, thats what matters.

BTW someone had a link to a site that predicted Google's next everything (PR update, backlinks, major update, etc.) does anyone have that link?

That was a good link, smindsrt !

Google has indexed mostly all pages of my site (allindianews) which started only a month ago and adding 500-700 every day!

But no BL, no PR. :(

Waiting for the BL update on Aug 16. Does PR has direct connection with BL? [stupid question maybe !]
