Credibility is a big key to converting. If a potential customer do not believe in your pitch, he or she won't buy it. Here's a tip I picked up a while ago to test credibility. This tip is specifically for landing pages that is written from a 3rd party point of view like say from a customer or a product review page. Submit your landing page to Stumble Upon. No, it's not for the traffic since the traffic there is untargeted. You are submitting to stumble upon to see if your landing page gets voted down. That's correct, you heard me right. Over at Stumble Upon, there is a loyal group of Anti-spammers who keep their eyes out for sites that are either spammy looking or look like a very obvious landing page that carries over to an affiliate. These guys will leave a comment that it's spam, insult you and vote you down. What they don't know is that they are actually helping you. If they do this to your landing page, then it's time to tweak your landing page or redo it. Whatever you got to do to make your landing page as believable as possible. Resubmit it, but under a different profile. If you get no stumbles, that's okay. What you are looking for is to see if it gets voted down (thumbs down) and a comment that it's spam. If it doesn't happen to you, then congrats, your landing page passes the test. I have gotten much better conversions doing this. It's very helpful if you want to make your page as credible as possible before spending big on a PPC campaign. Hope this helps.
I use SU, but not for this purpose.... Actually, I am not only using it in marketing purposes, I just like it
