I have heard using software tools for submitting to search engines is not a good idea, because often they make multiple submissions and that may cause the search engines to ban the website

It`s not such a good solution. Sometimes this "bros" wont index your site. The best deal is to submit your site to the most relevant directories or do link exchange with some sites that are high ranked in google. When google crawles them you`ll be indexed too.

What i`m saying is that if you submit to google, msn or yahoo, your site may not be indexed soon. If you submit to a high ranked directory, you could be indexed in a couple of days.

Well you are right. But when you have a software like Website Submitter you wont get banned because this one doesn`t make your submission automaticaly. The submission is made semi-automated. It makes your life really easy. It fills up your fields and you push the button.

And yeah, dont submit in to much directories per day. This could also hurt your site. Don`t make an explosion.

I too would like to suggest you to go for munual submission....try out doing submissionsto directories with good PR and all the se's and can go for link exchange with the related websites with high PR...This much is ok for submission process than automatic submission with softwares.

    if it were that easy...

all those "free submission" services claim to submit sites for free
eg. to google/yahoo and nine billion others. Yeah right.

yahoo wants like $300/year for direcoty listing...and google does it automatically...so..i really dont know what to think about "free submission services"
