@chandan thats a pretty bad name you could of been more creative @avpower i knew someone would say facebook and myspace, but anyway i will take your advice from the last bit @420 thats actually a nice idea/concept thanx! @adamfl that post was inappropriate and has been reported enjoy! @crazyaboutdomains not bad, but I am assuming that you own that domain?
I don't own XEPIA.COM though I admit I know the owner. It was just an example: any short and pronounceable .com or .net name would do the trick. Think of a 5 letter domain name: there are tons of good names.
nah most social networks are two words and of course a .com 5 letters would be good but its hard to remember unless its a real word...
I kind of disagree: it has to be a short name. It doesn't matter if it is an existing word or not. The secret ingredient to be memorable is unknown, but it definitely has to be short. Take a look at these names: twitter, xing, tagged, ning, hi5, meetup, meetic, bebo, mylife, friendster, orkut, spotify, digg, ... They are all successful sites.
Just don't use the word "face" or apparently Zuck will try to sue. Also don't call it the "facebook" of whatever niche you might cover. I agree with the advice to have a short, memorable name. Get one and go with it. Good luck!
I have this available. Registrar: Namecheap expires: 03/16/2011 url: http://find()twits (dot) com remove ()
Bad joke over there.. Btw, for me I've got a few domains which might be suitable for a social networking site, I don't know but if you're interested you can drop me a pm. Kulmo.com, Knorb.com, Mariou.com, Xaiga.com, Zorkul.com, Symlite.com, Clebi.com
I have a great one that I think would be really good for either a social networking or celebrity news site. Stareka.com as well as .net. Hot as all get out to me because it is a made up word that is very easy to remember, spell, say, etc. Plus the name itself has a very positive sound to it.
