    Hi

    The keyword I need to get to number one on Google is "advanced driving course" for my website business - www.driversdomainuk.com it is the most valuable term....

    There is a website which is at number 2 on google - www.advanced-driving.co.uk on this very keyword. I am number 4...!

    I post messages on this website advanced-driving as it has a very good forum, mainly as I am rather passionate about advanced driving and think its a great site, but also as it could help my rankings on google...

    Part of me thinks it is great as I am getting backlinks from a related site which out performs me on the essentail keyword. But I am not sure if its a follow or nofollow forum.....

    How can I check this?

    Is posting messages on this forum going to help improve my search engine rankings for this keyword??

    thanks
    Rob

    Social bookmark with digg and others.
    Create blogs (free like wordpress.com or blogger.com) and also create a blog in some unused subdirectory of your site. Write lots of unique content (or hire someone else to) and make sure the anchor text "advanced driving course" appears in there with a link to your site.
    Write articles about advanced driving techniques on dofollow article submission sites.
    Create Youtube demonstrations with your link

    @Rob:

    In post as well as signature links are dofollow on that forum.

    What you are doing is a perfect way to get good links as well as some targeted traffic for your site.
