What are the key elements of a 'Good Quality Landing Page'? my understanding is that if the Google Team reviews a landing page and marks it down as not Good quality, they can literally put the $ per click up so high that the people whose Ad Campaigns were shown on your site will no longer show due to ridiculous PPC rises from around $0.30 to $5 or even $10 per click, has anyone found this happening with any of their landing pages? and if so, what are the key elements in changing a bad quality to a good quality landing page, what is the optimum number of keywords to place on the page without going overboard? Thanks in Advance... Truffles_R_Us
Here's what I've found to be a good way to create a successful landing page... Obviously you need to be targeting specific keywords that you've already determined to be something you want to compete for...after that I create a sub page on one of my sites, and I use those keywords in the subpage name. Use the same keyword phrase / phrases in the page title. Put a good h1 title, again incorporating the keywords. Create some good content with a keyword density of about 7% give or take. I like to give some good information, but still leave them wanting more, so they either click on my Adsense ads or on my other links to the bulk of mysite. I'll incorporate some pictures here and there and just try to make it look professional and not like a landing page. Take a look at the first link in my sig. It's pretty basic, but I have an almost 50% CTR on that page...it just doesn't get huge traffic. I use this template for a bunch of landing pages I have, but I'm mainly trying to get Adsense clicks, not clicks through to my main site. Same theory applies though.
Thanks Christian, especially the 7% answer to the keywords. I looked at your page and the first thing I was tempted to do was press on one of the images of the Grills thinking it would lead to a larger picture and some info on it! just a thought for you to make some subtle changes... Many Thanks for the quick reply, a 50% CTR is awesome no matter what the traffic!!! Well Done Christian...
Happy to help. I'm still learning everyday, but this is one landing page that seems to be working well for me. Thanks for the tip about the images...I think you gave me a new idea to get some more click action.
