I put up on my site links to books that teach how to be a good freelance worker... however my site is not yet officilally launched and the resources come in a flash format that can't be embedded here. What type of work? I buy a lot of freelance work and there is some real value in services like Guru.com and elance.com when I am buying services from an unproven freelancer. The escrow service protects my funds. I would say the single biggest tip I can provide is to make sure you have a good project description and clear cut expectations, deadlines, and specifications for EVERY project. I have worked with too many freelancers who say they understand what I want and then produce nothing of the sort. As a client, we will assume if you say you can do something, you can do it.

You gotta build a resume first doing work for others; even if its very cheap. Once you do that it would be lot easier for you to market. To find jobs try classified ads sites, and freelance websites.
Good question. I was going to ask the same question. What type of freelancer are you looking for? Coder, writer, programmer, graphic artist? You need to be a little more specific.
