My new blog(3 months old) has 1,336 backlinks.

 

I have 53,731. Although a site that I use to check backlinks is dnscoop.com which also provides some other useful info and they say I have 56,497.

 

It will be interesting to see some replies on this. I'm not anywhere near you guys in terms of numbers of links but in terms of PR I don't feel so bad. You've got 69,000+ links and a PR 4 but I've got a couple sites with only 500 links and still have a PR 4. So it's not all about quantity of links, maybe quality of links comes into play?

(BTW-They're not any of the sites in my signature links and I'm not giving away the URLs " ;-) )

 

how do you guys get most of your backlinks?

 

Mine are a mixture of directories, social bookmarks, social news, one way links on other sites I own, blog comments on high PR niche blogs and yes, even a few paid links (shhhh, don't tell the big G)

 

I combined the sum of my 35 proxy network and i have 643,425 backlinks .

 

If you were doing this "game" right you should weight the links such as a PR 4 counts as 4 points etc because I could have 10000000000 PR0 links and it wouldnt do a thing for me.

Are you trying to show off your link popularity. I have one with better alexa and PR4, with only 17000 links from Yahoo. And its 6 months old site.

 

Don't you just love dick sizing threads, they contribute so much to DP.

 

Very funny! Actually though, I was trying to contribute by making the point that links aren't everything. I have 55,000 less links but the same PR as the person in this thread. Who's site is better? You can't tell by the number of links can you? Or from PR. The point is (and you kind of made it as well) is that links and PR and the size of your dick don't necessarily translate into success, wealth and great websites.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people in DP who are certain if they just build 2,000 links a day that they'll get rich. I think that if you asked the founders of the most successful sites on the web if they obsessed as much about their links and PR as people do in this forum, they would tell you no. They were too busy working on building great applications, websites and services for their customers. The only people that care about PR and links are developers like us, but the people who will actually buy your product or service don't even know these "measurements of success" exist.

 

I find the first 10k backlinks to be easy, after that I gotta work for em

Nope. Just thought we could see who has lots of backlinks as it seems to be such a serious subject on DP. For us it is just fun. But thanks for checking that alexa and pr stuff.

The Network gets lots of hits, but we hardly get any, so it makes no difference to us. However it is amusing that some people seem to be so bothered about this thread!

 

I hope you don't think I'm one of those people getting upset. It is fun. And I wish more people would post their numbers. I don't know anyone with 69,000 links personally so you're right, it is fun to hear the range of responses.

On a forum or a blog there's always people who like to rip person asking the question or other people trying to help by answering. That doesn't really help or contribute but maybe it makes some people feel better about themselves and their "skills". I certainly didn't want to rip you when I said my PR was the same as yours with less links, it's just to add some more data and an example to the conversation.

Almost all my sites that are a year old range from 200-700 links and have PR3 or PR4. My youngest site is four months old, has PR3 and has only 28 links according to Yahoo, although I've linked maybe twice that many but they're not all recognized. I try to add some quality links and directory links to them over time as I go but have yet to engage in a massive link campaign like you have Alansingapore. That's a heck of lot of links!

 

My 3 week old blog has 1416 and my 5 week old soccer site has 810
