or, to be more precise, at the forum. Today, I decided to not pay for any advertising. No AW, no Y!sm, nada. I knew the content of my site would be relevant in a few forums, so I posted in them. Maybe, three or four, I forget. So, it turns out that I got like almost 2hundred unigues, of which 55 were returning visitors that have been coming back. So figure 150 newb's. And my adsense earnings are AWFUL. practially nothing. Bad traffic? Repeat visitors getting used to my oh so slick ad placement? I have no idea but what DISAPOINTMENT! EDIT: I get anywhere from a couple to several hundred (less than 1000) uniques a day, just to put it in perspective.
You have to remember the basic rule, people are going to your site, for the site and the site content. Them clicking on the ads is not necessarily in their agenda. Maybe your site is so interesting that it completely takes focus away from the google ads
Ohh thats a graet point, the more interesting and good your site is the harder it is for people to click on ads. Most good earners come from sites with content that leaves the users wanting more.
Well, if that is the case, that is a beautiful thought. I would like to think my site is rich, I add 3-5 pages of fresh content daily. Do you think that people that are clicking on my adwords ads etc are just not as saavy? Click happy?
Yea they are probably bored browsing or perhaps they are actually interested in the ads Its hard to get many clicks though.
I do ok otherdyas though...I guess I got a little disapointed bc today it was all free traffic as opposed to the paid stuff, you know?
well look at it this way (and I'm playing devils advocate here). If I have a hosting company website, my prices are way too high and my service and plans seem horrible, but on my page I advertise with adsense, there could be 3 other web hosts on which the guy might click. Now if you really stretch the imagination and assume that all those abs will cost them lots of money, you could make money from advertising your competitors and not spend any time running your business. I know it's a stretch but I think it's theoretically possible.
