    'Politics' is rarely 'Fun And Happy' anymore. :eek:
    This is a Fun And Happy Thread.
    ~~~~~~
    • Please, pretend- just for a moment - your opinion actually makes a big difference and can affect the future.
    • The question being asked is about a 'perfect world' and does not apply to our modern times.
    In a perfect world would you choose Utopian Competition or Utopian Cooperation?
    Utopian Competition = Low prices for most products, plus big $$$ rewards for highly competent workers and efficient companies. 'Incompetent' or lazy people are stuck counting on private charity, and / or motivated to improve. (Edit: The small % of "truly needy" people will be cared for, remember this is a 'fun and happy', perfect world)
    Utopian Cooperation = Well, I'm no expert... :p
    The best example is Open Source (software) communities, "cooperation, for mutual benefit."
    If you could make one of these "work well on a large scale", which would you choose and why?
    Could I make a suggestion? We need another fart thread to "lighten" things up.
    I don't think we could pull it off (no pun intended) though, without Big Doug, the master blaster dishing out disasster (intentional typo)!
    No, not really. Not even close to a top ten issue for me.
    That's why I was suggesting a fart thread.
    Smart question, but no...well maybe...
    ...the honest answer depends upon how you define the words.
    ~~~
    The word 'capitalism' is often used for what we have today :rolleyes:

    Calling them 'Utopian Competition' and 'Utopian Cooperation' is an attempt to discuss "ideal choices in a perfect world."
    I said "If you could make one of these 'work well on a large scale', which would you choose and why?"

    Thanks

    ideally they both can and should be used. competition can be great within its boundaries (w/e boundaries those are) you can also cooperate to a limit that isn't complete socialism.. cooperating within a group to compete against others for example.

    idk that i fully understand the question but that's my 2 cents
