SOBI2 has a plugin for reviews....its all open source

sigsui.net or something like that is the URL....just Google SOBI2 and then go to plugins/downloads and you will find the review plugin.

It's a nice component (sobi2) and the plugin is good too.....if you know basic CSS you can make the whole thing loook really nice, there are even dreamweaver plugins for styling SOBI2

Typically, to install extensions in Joomla, you cannot do so by manually copying them into the folders. You should delete what you manually uploaded immediately.

You must install them using Joomla's installer located in the backend administrator. You must log into Joomla as the administrator, typically through an address that looks like the following:

http://yourdomain.com/administrator (or however your folders are set up).

Once you get in, navigate to the Extensions menu item. Mouseover that, and you should see a drop-down menu. There, you will find Install/Uninstall. Click on that to go to the install window, and from there follow the instructions.

NOTE: Some extensions must be unzipped first as there are other zip folders within. Others do not. Be sure you follow the instructions provided by the extension developers.

I would suggest you run the trial version of JReviews first. The developer is excellent at helping and offering support but you should make sure you can handle the component first by trial. It is not simple. Plus once you install the JReviews component it will tell you if your server meets the requirements to run correctly. Mine did not so I made the change to the server so it could run correctly.

If you use SOBI 2 with the review plugin you will have to copy a bit of code into the template after you install the plugin. It is fairly easy to do and you can access the template file from within the SOBI component.
