A forum just for directory owners?

Hi,

Just playing wit the idea of making a forum for just web directory owners. What are people’s views about this? Especially web directory owners. Would you sign up?

What is the purpose of a normal webmaster forum? It is to connect directory owners and laos help and support etc

I don't think it's a bad idea. Got to get them to come to it, but otherwise I'd join it.

 

I think it is a great idea, you could promote it by offering free textlinks to directory owners that sign up, or free banner rotation on a points basis per posts, or the top 20 posters get a text link and it rotates.

Yes, neat idea. But you got to find a way to get ppl there. I think DP has probably the best directory forums on the web. No doubt. But how many ppl regularly visit and post in this forum? I think it would be hard to get alot of members that regularly contribute to a directories-only forum. But if you build one, I'll sign up.

I dont think its a good idea, the community is too small for that.

 

There wouldn't be enough things to talk about. And most people will be from DP so why not just come to dp. But I would sign up for you.

 

To an extent I agree with Aspidov, directory owners is quite a small niche. When I want to talk about directories I use DP and/or Vilesilencer's forums.

So to make it successful, you would have to offer more than either of these two established communities. More than revenue sharing, a large user base, and involvement in one of the most popular SEO-friendly lists on the net. It's not impossible, but the bar is pretty high.

That is going to be a tough one to do. I would think there would not be enough interest with the other sites out there, including this one. I will join to help you out if you decide to do it.

Well I have started http://directory-owners.com Will be the domain name, I have checked and no TM issues. I am not going to be using XMB I am going to be buying VB but what do people think of the section of the forum so far?
