Does anybody know if there exists a site that lets you bid, or buy software(to own and resell) like Flippa?
I don't trust ebay, and it is not what i need, i mean selling the Rights to software and the source code, and then you could re-brand it as your own and sell it.
Usually such software is offered on developer's own website - and promoted on software websites (like hotscripts.com or download.cnet.com) as demo/trial to be downloaded.
No, im talking about buying the software rights, the code, the everything, so that you OWN the software and the rights to sell it.
You want to sell EXCLUSIVE rights to a single software? It makes sense if the software is created for a specific customer. Otherwise it would be very hard to find a buyer. Listings on flippa.com only seem like software/websites being sold. The only listings that get attention (and real money) are established businesses - websites with traffic, user base and income. Perhaps you should create a brand for this software, start selling it - and then try to sell the entire business when the brand gets noticed. The other way could be talking to people from the specific niche the software is targeted to (on industry forums, for example).
I would want to sell and buy exclusive rights to software. ...If there is no such thing i will create it.
It was a joke. I was hoping that you were going to create it but not with the intention to sell it right away.
Maybe you contact the owners of software listed in Hotscripts and Download.com and offer them something they can't refuse.
Try googling "PLR software" where multiple people get the rights to sell some sort of software. It's usually smaller software like generators, it's rare to find a big piece of software available to be sold (there's more money in creating it and selling it, than their is to make it and sell it just once to someone).
I don't think anything like that exists. Maybe this is an opportunity for you to come in and make some bank? Or, if you're looking to get some software developed, there are always the outsourcing sites (elance, odesk, freelancer, etc). But, I think your idea is HUGE if you take action on it... Could also be potential for MASSIVE ticket products. (2k-200k)
Mmmm.... I've not seen any so far. But to be frank, I don't get the idea. Can you explain friend? Because there seems to be some kind of loophole there, just my gut instinct there.
Lets say Company A create a software, but they do not have the funding to market or support it, to not make a loss they could sell all the rights to the software to Company B which has the funds to market and support the product. Company A would not lose any money, and Company B would get a earning potential that they could market and sell to their end users.
You describe in a difficult way, If you are a good software developer then you can deal with a software company and create a software that will be hit in the market, then you and your investor software company both will get profit and software market gets will open for you.
