:) The thing to remember about the million pixel website pages is that they are producing major traffic and exposer to the websites that participate. People are curious about this new internet marketing platform and with new developments in the design and planning involved to keep traffic comming in these sites may very well be as important as some internet directories, billboards, etc. The traffic is coming in to these sites ( alexa reports ), so who really can tell, will they vanish or will the million pixel sites evolve and become a large part of internet marketing.

I don't visit any of them any more, I think most of them will be considered link farms down the road and the benefit of buying ads in them will be negative!

If visitors have the opportunity to be rewarded for there time like FREE offers as well as a series of huge cash give aways based on some online contest involving a drawing. This way visitiors are forced to return to Million Pixel Home Page to have a chance to win. I think it feeds into the competiveness of people the same way the online casino sites have captured a huge following.

I think as far as them being looked at as like link farms, Im not so sure, because alot of these Million Pixel Sites are now being built around a specific topic / a targeted theme which eliminates the link farm theory. Search Engines like Google are sure to catagories these sites differently because of there structure and because they are a new concept.

Search engines don't look at these pages like people do, they look at them as a bunch of links on one page (Link Farms), when they are all linking to each other their fate is sealed as interconnected link farms!

Buying links in them will hurt more than help, the only one that is worth anything is the first one!

Just one page with a bunch of links....no content...a link farm to search engines.

With the Million Pixel Home Page Like a directory once the links are catagorized with proper keyword related alt text it becomes a large directory rather that a link farm. Link farms are usually sites that have links with zero relevancy to the exchanged link and besides Google has a good grasp on what sites are link farms and what sites are not.

So, a lot of directories are being classified as link farms today also, especially those that are reciprocal link directories!

With the term of these Million Pixel Advertising home pages patentially being link farms, there is a fairly easy way to prevent this from even being considered. The Million Pixel Page can have the link portion of the site structure with meta tag <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW"> telling search engines crawlers not to index parts of a sites content. After all in this marketing platform the million pixel pages are the source of the advertisers traffic not the search engines. The link farm concept can also be prevented with java and other techniques. So advertisers never are in real risk of being tagged with link farming.

So, I can buy my competitor ads there and affect them negatively? Sweet!

I think the greatest thing about the birth of the Million Pixel Page is that new ideas are poping up improving the Million Pixel Page Idea. The internet seems to really welcome new marketing techniques for website traffic.

I have a plan: my website is and will be advertised.
    I spend and will spend
    1) a reasonable percentage of the sales
    2) all the ad revenues from the internal pages
to be sure the website continues to have some traffic.

I don't know, they just come... To give you some numbers, in January:

    - 5% came directly (no referrer)
    - 5% came from search engines (Google mainly)
    - 15% came from normal advertising (Adwords mainly)
    - 25% came from paid links (pixel ads, text links)
    - 20% came from free advertising (pixel ads, other websites of mine)
    - 30% came from websites/fora/blogs (buzz, WoM)

My returning rate was around 10% for long but increases to 15% recently.

I bought squares on themillionpennyhomepage which was the first copycat (I think) and got in early. I spent $4.00 and had quite a bit of traffic for the first month or so. It was quite a good investment.

there are THOUSANDS of auction websites. you need to surf more ;) LOL
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=online+auctions&meta=

this is the way to look at the pixel sites..

they bring you traffic which if your site is good..you can convert into MONEY.

that's it... that's the bottom line.

Which part is the hard part to understand?
