A Flaw In Most Million Pixel Home Page Advertising Sites?

Discussion in 'Link Development' started by pixel1, Jan 28, 2006.

:) I have explored the net and researched a number of Million Pixel, Million Dollar Homepages and have discovered a major Flaw in most of them. The Flaw is that most of the sites have absolutely NO plan set up to continue bringing in traffic long after the Pixel Grid is full. No design or plan on how to keep visitors coming back after the initial buzz is gone. So the 3-year (or more) guarantee micro ad listing is literally useless.

Have others noticed this same flaw?

Most of those sites link to each other, an entire industry has developed around the concept!

It is a major flaw, but the very basic flaw with all of them is that they have NO PLAN AT ALL. They are just copycats, and owners mostly a] think it will all come automatically b] just want to profit on the buzz while it lasts (lasted, I would say).

I visited 10-20 for research purposed due to my project and all were empty sites waiting for the domain to expire, only filled with pixes their owners put there for free....

I got a better idea than the pixel sites, but it would need a advanced programming team to pull it off....

that's true, they probably just want to retire on the $million
    ...is that a bad plan?

most directory owners do the same, list all their sites..even pages sometimes.

They do look crap all advertising each other,
I have stayed well away from the 400 emails asking for pixel link exchanges with
    AMillionQuid
however it would make the site look busier
I am still waiting for your $18 Anthony!! ;)

They may have a plan of some sort to continue advertising the pixel site.
But would visitors really want to waste their time on such a page?
    That is the real drawback.
Terrible looking pixel pages, hard to find something (unless you have damn good eyesight).
And no plan to remove the dead links that I have ever read about.
So in 2-3 years, how many of those pixel ads would still link to relevant sites?

Since they are all tied together they will be nothing but pixel link farms and links from these pages could hurt more than help in the end

FWIW: I have this in my terms, I thought something like this would be obvious to the other pixel site owners
    (in fact any website owner)
"If your website no longer exists or is offline for more than 3 months, your listing will be forfeited."

Dead links are not good for the sites, like I said before, I think many of them will be devalued as link farms if they are not already for cross linking to one another!

These pixel sites overall create buzz on the internet and I think they really have there place for marketing websites. Finding one that has a long term plan for getting visitors in and converting visitors to your site are the ones to consider. Seperating the dead end quick hitters from the real potential internet marketing businesses. Internet searchers like new and these sites provide that for visitors.

Even if they are considered link farms because they all link together

Can they help a page if they are all devalued as link farms

I think away to get visitors to come back and visit the Million Pixel Advertising website is by giving them something in return. A way for visitors to take part in some kind of give away. Visitors with that competitive nature having a chance to win real large money prizes could build a traffic stream of returning visitors.
