Hi guys, I've personally had the unpleasant experience recently to witness how three of the most popular web hosting affiliate programs in the face of BlueHost, HostGator and FatCow avoid paying your deserved commissions. You can read the lengthy article here but in brief: each of them has its own way. BlueHost replace your affiliate cookie, FatCow list your commission in your account and after that remove it and HostGator simply do not list a commission until you contact them. Of course, this does not mean you won't receive any commission at all but my experience show that probably affilates do not get payment for the big majority of the referrals (in good standing) they send to each company.
