A few suggestions for the contests section

Well, I decided to write this because there has been a lot of scam contests happening at the DP contests section nowadays.. The contest holder either does not announce the winner,or announce a fake winner or just run away after posting the contest.. You know how much it hurts when all your hours of design works get wasted like that..

So may I suggest a few points which may be implemented on the contests section?

1) Entries can be submitted via PM provided the designer has to make the design public if he/she wins the contest.

2) The contest holder must choose a winning design from the submitted entries.

3) Minimum prize of the contest is 5$,others should be posted in the freebies section (There are still 2/3/4$ contests for image edit/favicon)

Mods or admins,please have a look into these..

I agree with number 2 and 3... And in my opinion, most people submit ripped off designs via PM so the other contest entrants cannot catch em with the rip offs.. Its not really nice when lots of designers work hard on a logo contest, and the ripped off logo wins, isn't it?

 

Thats why I said you have to show the design publicly if it wins..

Submitting entry via PM is much better than showing it in public during the contest.. Some 'designers' just rip off the ideas from the feedback given and win the contest.. That is not at all fair as far as the original designer is concerned.. You can see what I mean if you have a look at one of the previous contests I participated in..

 

I agree with all 3 dimitri as you should add a 4th; All contest must have an end date & time nothing accepted after that (I seen many contest holders state the contest is over, 30 minutes later there's a new entry and in a few hours they win it), but things never happen like we wish.

 

Mods do not get involved in transactions done between members and what you are suggesting would go against their policy. I do not think that will happen. Best suggestion is to only enter them if you submit your work with a watermark so it can not be stolen. Otherwise, according to the general stance of moderators here, you are on your own.
