1.) Can adding keyword specific content pages help my main pages rankings? Example: my main site is for Nike Shoes, but I have an article and on a specific page on Blue Nike Shoes for Toddlers. Would this help my main page rank for Nike Shoes? Or simply long tail searches for Blue Nike Shoes for Toddlers? 2.) Do pages on my site having anchor text backlinks help my main pages rankings? Like if I have an article on my site on a specific page, and it has my main pages keywords as anchor text, will this help my main page? 3.) Why is it that my main page always has the highest authority? For example -- lets say I have my main page optimized for Nike Shoes and somehwere else in the page it says 'our shoes are great for toddlers'. But THEN i ahve another page that is specific for Nike Shoes for Toddlers .. yet the main page OUTRANKS the smaller, more specific page. How can I make google look more at the subpages? Deep link building? (seems like too much of a hassle). Thoughts?
