A few questions on phrase matching

    Hi there,

I've been researching proper adwords techniques, and have a few questions on phrase matching.

Firstly, is it redundant to have both:

"inventory system" & "inventory system software" in the same adgroup?

Technically, the term "inventory system" would trigger the ad if the user typed in "inventory system software", correct?

Secondly, are broad matches even helpfull? It seems that it would be better to use phrase matching in almost every instance.

I don't think it's redundant to have both, putting both might actually tells you which exact keywords trigger your ads.

I almost never use broad match, it just brings in too many unwanted clicks.

I agree with DLWEB. having both phrases will help you understand what are the keywords your users are searching for.

I for one do believe in broad matching but it depends on your budget and niche. I you have money to spend in order to do some research than you should use the broad matching. otherwise you might consider starting with phrase matching.
