Ok, I'd like someone to answer these general questions I have about link development: 1. What's the maximum a page can reach on its first PR update? 2. Does the text which is being used to link from a page to my page have much weight in SERPs? For example, if I use 'Free image gallery' or 'Store your images' would it change my SERPs much for those terms? 3. I'm after a competitive phrase, there's only really 1 major competitor but he owns 4 of the top 10 sites for that phrase in Google, and they all link to his main site. What would you suggest to get that phrase (This might cross in SEO)? I plan to put backlinks with that phrase as the text and obviously my site will contain it all over the place - is there anything else? 4. Would there be any point in hiring a SEO professional to work with me? What kind of budget sites do these normally work on, and how successful can they be (would they do anything different from what's already on this forum). Thanks for your help!
1. There is no maximum, if you can get a link from google homepage you will be PR10 on the next update. 2. That is one of the biggest factors on serps, the anchor text of your incoming links. 3. Use the coop or link vault (or both) to get a lot of backlinks for your site. 4. Depends on the difficulty of your keyword, if it is not to hard then you can do it yourself. If you are targetting "web hosting", then you will probably need some expert help.
go on the might spurs. right now i have got that out of my system.. instead of trying for a very competitive keyword why dont you try http://inventory.uk.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ this will give you other options for the keywords you want and it will alos tell you the amount of times that particular keyword has been searched. Im guessin Seo will be quite expensive but you will need help to develop the link building as it can be a tedious and boring procedure!! you will generally find all the help you need on these forums as the majority of members have a large amount of experience in this field! good luck!
Thanks. http://inventory.uk.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ How accurate is the frequency of searches on this?
