The newly published Microsoft Publisher FAQs found here - https://advertising.microsoft.com/publisher do not cover these issues below. So, I have a few questions about MS pubCenter - 1. Do they have persistent login, or must you log in over and over again? My guess = Yes, persistent. 2. Do they offer an email address, or a phone number, if a publisher wants to contact them. What is it? (Google AdSense only does email communication, and YPN only does phone communication.) My guess = email. 3. Do they offer direct deposit? My guess = Yes 4. Can you transfer a pubCenter balance to your adCenter account, like YPN? My guess = NO 5. How often do the stats update? 15 minutes like AdSense? My guess = NO, longer 6. Can you opt-out of CPM ads through email, like you can with AdSense? My guess = YES 7. How long after you put up a page with an ad, does it take for them to deliver "targeted" ads? My guess = 15 MINUTES 8. Do they offer image ads? How many formats, and which ones? My guess = NO 9. Is there a "link-unit" type of ad offered? My guess = NO 10. Do they offer a "pubCenter-for-search" type of product? My guess = NO 11. Do they offer "Ad Preview"? My guess = YES 12. If you click on your own ad by mistake, are you warned or just ignored? My guess = IGNORED PLEASE CORRECT my guesses. If you do, I will say you are great. Thanks. I have many more questions, but I will stop here. Just trying to gather data, since they don't seem to want to say in their FAQs, and I am not a member. There is much to be learned here, during this recent period of "roll-out". Since there is a forum for AdSense, and for YPN, DP might think about adding a new forum for MS pubCenter. Maybe DP is waiting for them to stop renaming it. Or maybe waiting for a few more publishers. I think it is just a matter of time. M$ has lots of money. I just gave them $100 last Saturday (XP OEM). Works fine. . .
I think most of your assumptions are correct, but don't know about #12, and it does seem that they offer image ads... however I never use them and opted for text only. There is nothing in their FAQ's about CPM. They list an email for support and supposedly have a blog that publishers can access with a windows ID. Stats seem to update as frequently as adsense. They also report the number of clicks per hour. Their detailed reporting may have more features, but it crashes too often for me to fool with it. Ads serving takes about 5 minutes for targeting, although they say it can sometimes take longer.
Thanks for all the comments. I am integrating them into my online summary of all the pubCenter attributes. Click here - https://advertising.microsoft.com/publisher Under "What types of products do you offer", it says - I believe that "number of gross impressions" refers to CPM, does it not? . .
Maybe it's something they will add in the future, but they aren't running it right now. Unlike adwords, they don't even have a CPM option in adcenter.
Ah, cool. Thank you. Looks like they are in the "thinking about it" stage. Ah, but remember that Google didn't initially tell us about CPM either. They just gave it to us. Then, when many of us found out about it, we "opted-out" through email. I am integrating all the MS pubCenter into this page - http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/adsense-vs-ypn.htm So far, mjewel is the SOLE contributor. Thanks, mjewel. All your input is much appreciated. Gotta leave for the day now, so don't think I am ignoring any more posts that you make today! This is a work in progress, and I will add any new input tomorrow. . .
The Title of this thread is BOGUS! Microsoft PubCenter was NOT formerly "Content Ads". I get so confused. HERE is a small table listing the names of the Advertiser programs, and the Publisher programs, of Google, Yahoo and Microsoft, with links. http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/adsense-vs-ypn.htm#equivalence Sorry to have introduced even more confusion into the mix. I hope that I have it right now. (Please be advised that there are OTHER pages, which also appear to be default intro pages for these programs. There is a lot of slicing and dicing going on, and "name-changing", and "positioning" - for example, Yahoo APT.) How can YPN still be called "beta", after 4 years? Bizarre. EDIT: So how come this guy ranks #1 for this thread, when DP doesn't rank at all? - http://seo.webdomainsbroker.com/dig...t-ms-pubcenter-formerly-contentads-53328.html . .
