2. Does generating fake hits to a site affect Alexa ranking?

3. Does a good Alexa ranking help you rank better in search engines?

getting good ranking in alexa is of no use. optimize your page,bring more visitors, make your site popular and your alexa ranking will be increased automatically.

 

i do agree with above mentioned getting good alexa ranking is not important but getting Good SE Ranking is the important thing

you r website quality and other many factors(seo, traffic level, placement) make ur alexa rank not vice versa!

 

waste of time - concentrate your efforts on PR & SERP and the rest will follow

 

The alexa ranking has not been given much importance these days, although still some people take the alexa ranking very seriously. If you wanna rank high in alexa, install the alexa tool bar and check your site as frequently as possible in it.

3. Good alexa ranking, good search engine ranking, because alexa give your good rank if u get some good number of visitors. if u get some good number of visitors, google will give u good rank.

 

If the above argument (markbarak) says concentrate your efforts on PR & SERP and the rest will follow, Why my site has modest PR, but low Alexa rank since the last 6 months?

I have Google PageRank=3, but my Alexa ranking is just only 731,000. I had installed both Alexa widget on my website and Alexa toolbar on my Firefox browser.

 

anything over 100k can easily be manipulated by visiting your site every day with the toolbar, but to get under 100k its hard to do it on your own

 

Trying to make alexa rank better is a wasting of the time, because alexa rank isn't worth anything. Just forget it.
