I am thinking of starting up a proxy network. It will have one domain name and consist of 24 sub-domains (one for each letter of the alphabet). I have a few questions: 1) Even if proxies are on sub domains, will they have the same IP and therefore be exactly the same as each other? 2) Can I use regular hosting or should I use proxy hosting? 3) How much bandwidth would 500 users per day take up x24 because of my network? 4) Can proxy sites be shut down? Why? How? 5) How can I stop my proxies being shut down? 6) If one of my sub domains (e.g. a.domain.com) is shut down, will that mean that my entire network will be shut down? 7) Is this a good idea?
1) Yes 2) You need to find a Host that accepts Proxies (See my Sig) 3) Your looking at lots of bandwidth per day. For example I have one proxy that has already used about 80GB for the month of may (19 days). It get about 700 uniquges a day. 4) They can be blocked by web filters like websense. 5) No way really to prevent them from being blocked. 6) I would think yes, they will all get blocked. 7) It can be profitable....takes time like anything ese.
