1. I have got an Amazon Affiliate account for amazon.co.uk and live in the United Kingdom and I was wondering if someone from a different country, the United States for example, came to my site and clicked to order something, would they have to buy it from Amazon.co.uk? Or would it automaticaly link the to the same item on .com? Because I fear if not they might be put-off by the shipping price. 2. Is it against the Amazon Affiliate rules to post a link to the stand-alone store URL? For example, if you wanted to promote your site by putting the URL of the stand-alone shop in the description of a YouTube video, would that be allowed?
No they wont be automatically be redirected to the usa product. Stand alone amazon aStores are no longer allowed on amazon UK, France and Germany by their new rules and must be embedded into a web site as far as users in the uk amazon forum can tell. You would need to use your own store script to do that.
It means what it says - you can't use it as a stand-alone website. It just means you can not use it as a "website" and promote it directly. You can still have it as a stand-alone-store, but it can only be promoted by a link from YOUR site. That what they mean by the bit after the bit you bolded in the quote above. In amazon.uk, when you create an astore, the link is still available to create it as a stand alone store.
