A Facebook marketing question

I can't seem to find the answer to this: how do you register an account on Facebook that looks like this: facebook.com/YourCompany

For instance:

http://www.facebook.com/nytimes
http://www.facebook.com/microsoft

 

I don't have a face book profile. but I'm pretty sure thats their profile name.
You would have to sign up with your company as your account name.

 

It's not a profile, it's what they call a business Page

http://www.facebook.com/business/?pages

Sign up for a profile in a business name and you run the risk of having your account closed down.

 

Thanks - we're actually looking to do this at work (pretty big company), it shouldn't be a problem.

EDIT: this only seems to create a long URL like facebook.com/pages/MyCompany/12345yy3493 - how do you get the short URL?!
