a edu domain from another country, has the same value?

A edu domain from say canada or portugal, so edu.ca or edu.pt has the same value as a normal edu?

There will be no advantage over an other domain name. Extensions don't really matter, links still do.

 

I think a link from an edu domain as more value then a dot com, my question is a link from a dot edu dot pt as the same value as a dot edu???

ex:

xxxxx.edu

xxxx.edu.pt

are they the same?
if I'm offered a domain xxxxx.edu.pt and the price is about a thousand usa dollars is it a good deal???

actually, it will depend on your plan about the domain. If you are planning to have a site in a particular country (Portugal), it has a large possibility to work well their(catering local market). But if you are planning to cater a larger market(global), I would advise not to use such domain.

 

so for example a site bloggy.edu.pt all in english offering blogs with wordpress MU script would be useless?

I believe it does myself. You know have the same value as it does here in the usa!

 

do you have any evidence that search engines make this distinction, if the site language is english?
