Ok.. If it's WindowsXP, Just use the System Restore to restore your system to a recent working state.

When You click on a link from a search engine, it takes me to a url called go.google.com or something, it's because c:\windows\system32\etc\drivers\hosts files been modifed and mapped with different hostnames and ips.

If you have a Genuine Windows, just download Windows Defender http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e7-da2b-4a6a-afa4-f7f14e605a0d&displaylang=en

It's free You can Also use Spybot Search and Destroy, it's free too :)

I hope after a good update and full system scan everything will be fixed.

Cmon, man. You should try to format your PC.
If you forget the way to do it, please search on the internet.
Anyway, do you have external hard disk to back up your data? and do you have CD installer of your operating system?

Im not able to create a restore point, probably because of the spyware.

When i try to click on a date, to restore the system to, it doesn't load.

And when i try to find the process, its not there?

Yet the background is remaining the same.

Thanks for all your help guys, im a novice with this, please keep it coming im nearly there!

Exactly. Just format your PC and start again. I reinstall XP every 6 months.

Just make sure your backup EVERYTHING that you want (including bookmarks, email addresses, photos, drivers etc), do plenty of reading before you start, and print out any instructions. Or get some nerdy kid to do it for you.

MAKE BACKUPS NOW <<< You should be making daily backups anyway, or at the very least, weekly backups.

I can't do system restore though, its not letting me.

Can someone give me a couple of step by step instructions how to format the PC.

Thanks everyone so much for the help. Sorry im not as smart as you all.

    Thanks

There are hundred of pages already covering this, just Google "reinstall XP".

As long as you've got all your important files safely backed up, you can't really damage anything - so just go for it, learn by doing :)
