Good grief! Like I don't have enough on my plate already... On July 17, 2006, I posted a blog entry @ my domain blog about PageRank: http://www.domainblog.net/2006/07/many-webmasters-and-publishers-are.html OK, so I've just come across a blog that's owned by DP member "kartik786" with a couple of entries that are basically lame attempts @ copying my material: domainfaq.net/the-ho0-hum-about-google-pr/2006/07/24/ domainfaq.net/special-promotion-become-a-godaddy-reseller-for-89-includes-a-100-google-adwords-credit/2006/07/24/ I can't believe folks are still doing this copy and paste nonsense. What makes this situation so irksome is the fact that I make it very easy for other webmasters to use my content, and a few are making money from my syndicated work. And that's 100% OK with me, as long as you play by the rules and provide all the expedient links back to my site, like the Domain Rookie is doing here. Now I have use up my precious time to get these entries removed from the offending blog. I've PM'ed "kartik786," but I also wanted to post here, because I think a little disgrace is in order. Am I wrong about that? Your comments and opinions are welcome and appreciated. AmCy
1- buy a botnet of 20,000 machines 2- buy a blog spam script 3- f**k his blog Man, some people just do not care about all the ethics. You can do what i mentioned above, or just tell the public here just as you did.. i am sure he will be the looser at the end. In most cases trying to convince anybody to remove the content does not work, DP members have been facing such issues before. So IMHO, just leave it, you are the original author and believe me, there will be lots of link backs and interest in the original content as well from SE's as from interested people. Good luck.
Perhaps. But I think the major search engines are sophisticated enough to pickup and penalize the content thieves quickly. In the end, I'm doing "kartik786" a favor by posting here, because he/she will learn that such practices will get you nowhere fast: better to learn that lesson sooner rather than later, IMO. AmCy
I have recently discovered one site copy lot of our articles but never put a link back. I have just recently email them.I told them to put a link back to my site. I'm hoping they will do it.I'm really upset right now.
The above is the offending URL? If so, u really shouldn't do them the favor of providing a live link from DP.
Yup, they are the offending URL. My site is www.abc-of-snowboarding.com which ranks in SERP pretty well. This is where they get the articles. I've edited their link for you.
Ya, this is happening a lot and it sucks to have to go through so many sites of mine and make sure there not been copied. It hurts us all when people are lazy like that. But it's because they suck and can't do the work themselves.
