Ok I'm looking for a good domain and this is crazy.

My question is if I search for a domain like

adomain the .com is taken and all others TLD's are available

    If i change it to

adomain- nothing is available if I use the -

Does this make it worth more with this dash on the end?

    This is crazy. Please help

Also is it worth getting a .biz .info .org or anything other then a .com?

A domain may not begin or end with a dash. If you get the .com and plan to develop it fully, I would also register .net / org / us / info. Good luck.

If you are looking to just buy/sell domains, then adding any sortof dashes will automatically lower the value. However, if you actually develop the site and get traffic, then no matter what the name is, the value will increase.

with '-' is generally (I emphasise generally) less valuable because of the "Telephone" test. Imagine if you tell someone over the phone your domain name, it must be easily understood. Over the phone, how do you say '-' ? Some people may say 'dash', "minus sign". So when you mean "adomain-" ,the listener may interpret it as "adomaindash", "adomainminussign" :D

There is no such thing as "adomain-" As I stated, a domain may not begin or end with a "-"

Thanks for the info. I have decided to maybe buy one. I was looking at

    dbrees.com

    rxpl.com

    findyet.com

You have any idea what they are or could be worth in time? I think findyet.com could make some a bunch of $$$$.

    Thanks

A good way to look at registering an unregistered domain is unless its a breaking news / new tech domain, its probably not worth much or it would have already been registered.

i think any domain with "-" between 2 words or more will be SEF better than the same domain without "-".
i noticed this while googling :)

I wonder if the first one is a misspelling of the famous www.DeBeers.com (diamonds) or could be confused by some as such.

With regards to the rest, it all depends on what you want to do. First, come up with a business idea, and then try to find a suitable domain; not the other way around.

For the value of the name itself (value in this case applied to the resale ability), names with hyphens have lower value, due to the usability problewms that arise (harder to explain, remember, say). WHen you add a dash/hyphen, usabilty gets diminished. However, as it's been mentioned, it doesn't hurt for SEO purposes.

Actually, the OP is talking about -domain or domain- which doesnt exist, NOT having a "-" between the letters / words.
