I have no knowledge about selling domains so can some one inform me of a few things? any thing that could benifit me would be greatful even if it is out side of these two questions

How does one go about selling a domain name?

Does it need to be hosted to be sold?

Domain names can be transfered from account to account for free (most registrars).

For example, if you registered with godaddy, registerfly, or namecheap (the top 3 registrars right now)... then you can send a domain from your account to your buyer's account for free.

You just need to make sure you get the money before you send the domain, because theres no way to get it back.

In addition to what sitewizard said..no it doesnt need to be hosted to be sold. As long as its with a registrar and in your account, you can sell and transfer it. Lots of people park there domains for extending periods when not using them

The best place to learn about domains is dnforum.com or namepros.com. Forums specializing in domains and domain business. Just try the introduction areas of these 2 sites and youll seen get a basic feel.

You can also list your domains for sale at sedo.com, but getting buyers from them is very rare unless your domain is generic.

Most domains sell in domain name forums such as dnforum, namepros, domainstate.....etc

I do not recommend ever selling domains unless its for over 10 months ROI.

I suggest reading Masters of thier Domains, this will really give you a good outlook on domain names.
