A different approach...

I'm burnt out on the whole pick a product/design a landing page/social bookmark/write articles/social bookmark and rinse, wash, repeat routine, guys. I've decided to start a full on blog in a niche and promote several products via banners and link lists on said blog.

I believe this will simplify things as I only have to go out there and promote a single URL, not to mention I can freely add or change products I promote on my site. I don't know, maybe this is what I should have been doing all along and I just misunderstood or didn't get the memo?

You never know if you don't try it out but to be honest but I think the shotgun approach will be much harder to convert.

Ya a blog would have greater long term potential but brutally slow start up. You are looking at atleast 2-3 months before you start seeing any decent income. That is of course if you pick the right niche and provide the right content and attract the right people.

But ya blog marketing can be extremely profitable if done right just like any marketing strategy online.

Eh. I've been doing this a little under a month and have made $182. Decent, but not great considering how hard I've worked. I hope I can double that soon.

A good idea, I am trying to do a similar thing with mixing the building of a blog and the clickbank marketing idea at the same time. A few points to consider that I am using to guide me:

Do build a blog with a lot of quality content -> good long term asset.

Add specific product review landing pages to your domain as well as the blog.

Rather than relying on banners and link lists, try adopting more what you have learned from your article marketing. So when writing a blog post, yes primary consideration is the quality of post to aid the development of a long term asset, but then, go with the article marketing idea in that if you can relate your post to one of your reviewed products attempt to get the click to your landing page, by integrating the suggestion in the actual content of the post.

This may end up being the best of both worlds: you get the traffic and repeat vistors of a good blog, but you may approach the conversion of a targeted article marketing campaign.

As mentioned above, it will be a slower start up process but as the traffic takes of, you can start to look at your high traffic pages and attempt to optimize them for click through rate to your landing page.

Thats my take on the idea anyway.
