I have a meeting in Dallas on Teusday, I overnight and leave on Wednesday. I have nothing to do for 10 hours or so, my flight leaves at 6:30PM. Anyone have any tips for a good time in Dallas on a wednesday? lol.
Not knowing your tastes it is hard to say. Dallas: Dallas Arboretum. Reunion Tower, ice rink in mall on 635 Fort Worth: Amon Carter Museum, Billy Bobs Symphony and ballet also possibilities. We are not taking the Dallas Morning News currently so I am uninformed on cultural events.. As genealogist I would want to hit genealogy secction of Dallas Public Library or Federal Archives and Record Center in Ft. Worth. The row of antique places in Forney look interesting as well. I have heard you have to be on lookout for reproductions. Received a phone call and am sure people have submitted suggestions. I have not been to any of the places listed above. I spend my time crossing the state and just know how to drive through. Shannon
It depends on what do you want to do, maybe go to a bar and have some beer or something, or bring someone with you to hang out with.
I would, but I have to get my knee scoped in the morning. I'm not too sure how I'll feel. It probably won't be a big deal. I thought about all the "fun" stuff there is to do in Dallas and I didn't really come up with anything. You can do the whole JFK-Oswald thing, we’ve got a few nice museums, a big aquarium, and the Arboretum. I’ve been to all of those, but I wouldn’t exactly call them exciting. If you’re a big Dallas Cowboy fan there’s the strip club defensive back Keith Davis got shot at or there’s the strip club cornerback Dwayne Gooderich left and then went on a hit-and-run spree and killed a few people.
I've had 3 of them done so far, you might be sore but should beable to go out yet that night. Good luck.
3?! Yeah they said it's not a big deal so I'm thinking it won't really bother me much. So if anyone is on Dallas Wednesday they should come see my surgery. I'll be in a gown!!!
The cool open ones in the back? Yep 3, price I paid for playing sports Not that you want to, but I never used crutches always walked immediately after them myself. I would not suggest it as it's very sore, but it is very possible to walk if you're careful.
I attended SMU in Dallas. The campus is beautiful and there are lots of fun things to do. They currently have a rare collection of first edition works by Mark Twain at the DeGolyer Library. On Tuesday night the Tate Lecture Series is having Eliot Spitzer speak and at the Bob Hope THeatre the Meadows Jazz Ensemble is playing big band favorites. Off campus, I agree with fworth... The zoo was great and Billy Bob's is worth a stop. My taxi took me by the JFK spot on my first drive into the city. But, I never went to the exhibit.
Yeah I haven't been able to do heavy squats lately because of some cartlidge in my knee. I had to have some screws removed out of my leg a couple of years ago and I was pissed because they only got one of the 2 out and the doctor was gone so I pulled my IV out and walked out of the hospital. I was suppossed to stay the whole weekend. The next week when I met with the dr. I was pretty pissed off. He said they tried for 2 hours and he had 3 guys taking turns trying to pull it out while 2 guys held my leg down. He showed me the x-ray where they even chisled some bone out around the screw so they chould get a better grip on it. It was sore as hell that whole weekend though and didn't walk anywhere except to the bathroom. I'm thinking this won't really be much though.
Yeah if you went through that a scope will be a walk in the park Just make sure you don't twist your knee and you'll be all good.
I would say catch a Mavs game, but they got games on Tuesday and Thursday, not Wednesday (both home). http://www.nba.com/mavericks/schedule/
There's this girl named Candy that I know. She's very fun. I would suggest anyone that is spending some time in Dallas try to hang out with her one night.
