You can even install apache on any box at home and make your own http server. Or wouldn't it work that way (definitely not a expert but I got a site working that way (with IP as the domain).)?
More than true ! In an ideal world I would like Google.com and MSN.co.uk. MSN.com has slowed right down in providing me traffic (now from.co.uk) whereas Google.com has not. Anyone with UK sites is probably experiencing something similar. There's no way to do this is there? I know you can choose countries but that then restricts the Google results.
I get loads more from G.co.uk than .com. But loads more MSN.co.uk than .com. Probably because Hotmail redirects to MSN.co.uk for UK users. But Google doesn't force tld in all cases (I have seen them do it actually). uk.yahoo and msn.co.uk would be appreciated but then you'll get another 40 country requests I guess. One thing that would be very nice is to port the G phrases over to the other two. I know it's been mentioned but wanted to raise it regardless.
Another usage tip. You pretty much have to read the SE name now where when coloured appropriately it would be more intuitive IMO. If MSN were Blue, Yahoo Red and Google Multi coloured (as per their corporate instantly recognizable brands) then it would save on 'looking around' to see which rank is which. Not that it is hard now but could be even easier IMO. Perhaps even just the first letter so not to confuse with the coloured ranking in/decrease.
I've got it working with php on my windows box at home and it's fantastic. But I agree w/ Tops, the colors would be nice to make it much easier to read. Otherwise, it's a super fantastic tool and I love it. Just saying thanks in now way conveys my gratitude.
Done just that and did a 'check all' (well fast BTW!) and guess what... All(most all) those horrible MSN n/a's turned into 1's! This is literally the first time I've done large scale Y and MSN ranking analysis of my sites and boy, am I feeling good with more top 5's added to my list (and that list is long!).
Thank you Shawn!! I like it and so far seems to be working, I will sit down when I have the time to add to the Yahoo and MSN all the ones we are watching on Google. (Or is there a fast way to just duplicate these over??)
Hey Shawn, As I've done with my tool instead of color-coating them just have small little icons with the different SE's logos. It may be about 1-3kb per logo, but will allow users to instantly recognize which search engine the results are for. BTW after using your tool I don't think I'll even finish developing mine. :\
Here's a quick tutorial on mass copying from G to MSN/Yahoo. 1) Select all the current G phrases all the way left to right inc the delete button and down to the last one you want. 2) Copy and paste unicode text into excel //Paste Special 3) Column B will be the KWs. Select column B and do a find/replace. 4) Replace " Disable" with "|http://www.yourdomain.com/" //note the pipe 5) Copy the entire Column B and paste into Add Bulk. 6) Untick G, tick Y & M - Click Add Bulk 7 and very important) Thank T0PS3O! PS If you have shitloads of phrases like I have then you might want to split it into N bulk additions to avoid time outs (which rarely but did occur on the old KWT at least).
Is this open to everyone yet. I logged into the keyword tracker and did not see any columns for yahoo and msn. Even added some new keyword | domains. Shawn, Thank you for a fantastic tool and informative website and forums
Okay... I color coded the search engine names (slightly, because when it was too bright it was really annoying). While I was at it, I also fixed it so the columns with colors applied (for example moving up or down the ranks) fades those columns out properly when the line is disabled.
I have a problem... I don't know that anything has changed on this, but it seems strange to me. My "pages in url" for www.ovenbuns.com is showing a decrease from 2680 to about 39. I freaked out when I saw that. I logged into the coop to see if my weight had dropped to basically nothing, and my weight had not changed - even on revalidation. I didn't look before I added yahoo and msn to my tracking, and this very well could be a me problem and not a you problem (although I really really hope there is a mistake somewhere )
