Even targetting the word "mistakes" will not work. Not only is there loads of competition but there are so few people searching for it that you won't get any traffic.

You need to target the specifc mistakes how to handle their consequences rather than the general term.

Try setting up subsections on "How to say sorry for xxxxxxx" "How to survive in gaol" etc and you may get somewhere.

Theres no more short cuts. You actually have to do something semi orginal now days to ge results in the SERP's over the long term - plus it helps to target terms which get searched.
