Edit: First off I'm new to the forum however I've used the FAQ as a reference many times in the past 4 months since I began to run adsense. I love the program so far and this forum has been extremely helupful for me, so I thank all of you for that.

When I type my full website name in google, (ie, mywebsite.com), I noticed that a competitor of mine is using my website name as a title to offer their product as a sponsored link. (adword). I contacted google and they said they're going to check on it.

I checked Yahoo, and yep.. Same result. They’re doing it with them too.

It's a bit weird to me. Part of me feels that it's taking away from my business and legitimacy, but at the same time, It's basically advertising my name for free.

    Thoughts?

Welcome to the real world. I suggest that you file a trademark on your name ... if indeed it is trademarkable.

You can file a DMCA? you prolly can based on evidences that this domain name and brand belongs to you. But you gotta be very careful when you claim it coz if u can't substantiate you will have to pay all legal feeds for other party.

It is a little trick I do sometimes
But I put a link to that site so what I'm doing is more like advertising but both of us have profit of it
