Hi All, Check this search engine.. http://beta.previewseek.com/ I feel this can be a competitor for google.. Thanks,
i am unable to reach this site, i am unaware of content on it but i am in University Campus and looks like this site is blocked here in library
Google, Yahoo and MSN are huge. Why would anyone stop using them when they do so well. Sure some other search engine could come along and do it a bit differently but it would need to be totally amazing to tempt even 5% of the traffic from the main search engines. I go to google to find something, I find it with no problems and am satisfied - why would I need to use another search engine?
This moron is just some spammer promoting a crappy "search engine" Funniest thing is that when you click on the "archieved" link you get a cache from MSN
Doubtful... it's terribly slow even under the low load it's under. Results aren't all that relevant and they also seem to be engaged in false advertising. It's certainly not "the world's most advanced search engine".
Somehow I don't think a page that cannot be displayed is going to compete with Google. I don't think it will even compete with icerocket.
Tip #1 for a new search engine. Have a memorable name. No one is going to "preview seek" anything, I'm not even sure what it means. People will Yahoo or Google something. But preview seek it? Is it psychic or something?
I found this search engine called Lexxe which claims to be work better then Google, I posted about it in my recent blog if you want to see... It atleast has a unique feature and works a lot better, but this one is just another META SE not really impressive, Lexxe looks at language patterns...
this one is really good. My rankings here suck, but the results it provides are better than in google! May I'll start using it now..
Both seemed slow. Previewseek, To be so advanced it certainly had some odd results in my sites category, as well as a thumbnail from more than 4 months ago when I redesigned... Go figure. Lexxe seemed like it was pulling the results directly from yahoo.
The SE seemed to like several of my sites (which means I like them ) but the response times were marginal. I don't think I've ever gotten a referral from them and I don't see their crawler in my logfiles. Wonder where they get their data? Regardless, I'll support any engine/service that can weaken the hold the G/Y/M have on search. -jay
Previewseek could be a competitor to Google alright.......................pshccccc yeah right!! Previewseek is using results off of MSN, which is pretty pathetic, kind of like an annoying leech!
