We all know that slowly the Labour Government eroding our rights and clamping down on any sense of freedom in our country.

But it seems a bit much when they start talking about nationalising a privately owned bank. Yet let gas and electricity prices soar.

I can’t quite understand why they are going about it in an arse about face way.
If they want to do it with the support of the people, surely the first thing we should even contemplate re-nationalising should be the utilities sector. Stop the old folks dying because they are too afraid to turn on the heating.

Throw a few more politicians on the open fire and let the oldies stay warm this year instead!

Socialism keeps creeping in, more and more in the West. Most people can't even see the little power grabs and how they have added up over the last 70 years.

Socialism keeps creeping in? In western europe we have always been pretty much socialist countries from the start.

Socialism's natural path of growth is towards totalitarianism. In order for the state to have enough power to tax, and provide all essential services, free markets and freedom have to be subverted.

And this eventually leads to an authoritarian state.

Communism does not lead to totalitarism. Not the way it was suppose to be intended at least. The Vanguards are suppose to dissolve back into the masses in theory. Just that one leader ever really did that. But if you really had to pick one mao would probably be the closest canadiate since he lived rather poor.

And I wouldn't say england is becoming communist if that's what you saying. I'd say maybe going down a facist/communist road with all the cameras and stuff. There's 1 camera for every 14 people in england and an average person has 30 pictures taken of them on a daily bases. Ironic how George Orwell who wrote 1984 came from England isn't it.

I can't agree, Guerilla. Take a look at the nordic social democracies.

Oh, re rep - thanks, buddy. I wasn't whining as much as pointing up the man's hypocrisy and cowardice.
