I searched the forum but couldnt find this tip anywhere..... Don't have much money to buy top quality links? Annoyed by buying $100 links that die in a week? Well this is a little tip i have used a few times and it works wonders! Using mans best friend (yes i mean google), search for a high ranking Charity site. Get in contact with the support and say how much you think there cause is a worthy one Then offer a nice donation in return for a backlink on the most popular pages It works wonders for page rank, as charity sites are seen as un-biased by search engines. It helps the charity by giving them the much needed cash. AND the link will last ALOT longer, cost less, get more hits etc etc Any feedback please?
Very nice tip indeed. May seem a bit sly but you're donating after all so why not? Bets new tip I've seen in a while, well done.
That is certainly sly. It will also not work long term (they will likely figure the trick out if too many people do it). Charities really are good pages to get links on though: will be trusted by google and get a lot of natural sympathy links themselves.
Well, that's a very different amount. $500,- is a lot of money. Still, to have that pay for one link, indefinitely, on a high PR website is great service. Not sure one can count on that lasting indefinitely, but still. If I were a charity website-owner I'd do something like that exactly: you give more than $200,- (or something) and you get a 'free' link on the 'sponsors' page - for a year, or two years or whatever. The difference being: the charity is in control and sets the minimum amount for the link - and also sets a boundary (the link stays up one year, two years, whatever).
Thanks for the tip. I will try this idea. And here is an additional tip i thought now: if you dont want to search for charity sites, you can hire someone to do that..
Heres a site using a similar approach, Not yet in the high pr range but has potential and represents a good cause. Showed up in my ibl checks quickly and sends few visitors here and there... (i recommend) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=116695&highlight=tigers
I heard of a similar technique a while back from the text-link-ads blog I think. They were talking about sponsoring blog sites which then provide a link back which is a newish technique for acquiring good links. Sometimes the cost is comparable to buying high quality links though. May not benefit you much if the link is not in a related industry. W3C has been giving links on high pr pages to "sponsors" but google caught on and asked them to add nofollow to the links because they were on PR 9 pages which probably were screwing with the SERPs.
i think the key to this method is making the charity feel in control and like your doin them a favour.... as i sed, probly best to contact the owner and say "I love your cause, its important to me ... blah blah". Obviously don't goto cancer research to trade a cigarette wholesallers link lol
I think its a very great idea but some charity owners aware of this may quote at a higher price I think so
good idea although I wouldnt do it just to gain a backlink. I would want to do it to help out someone else. Of course, it doesn't hurt to try
It would be great if your site is about charity. If not..it will be an unrelated link without much power
