We sell a small property management software package and offer free support. In general we get very few queries and they're often related to misread keycodes or not having admin rights during installation. However one user has had his PC infected by a multitude of viruses and trojans. The computer guy who has been tasked with the cleanup hasn't been able to repair the data so he's sending it up on a CD to me. His email program wouldn't let it send as it detected a problem with the zip file. Now, apart from the fact that we should be charging for this - after all we didn't send the guy out to the kinds of sites you collect those kinds and numbers of infections from - but I'm not even sure I want to touch the CD as any downtime I experience costs me big time. Would you say sorry, not our fault, don't want to know or would you take the risk...
