There will also be the sent emails with the files attached if the articles were done and emailed, rather than submitted to a website. This would be proof that your friend had originally done the writing.

I don't know what your friend was making on this project, but any project of this size should have an up front deposit, a mid-payment and the final payment. It is not unusual to even have a signed contract.

Guys, I'd like to close this thread with the good news that my friend has finally been paid for her services. All this would not have happened had it not been for your useful suggestions.

It gives immense relief to know that there is actually some place where you can seek help when you get into trouble.

Thank you all for your contributions...

    God bless : )

Ouch that hurts. Good luck getting a refund or your money back, consider it a costly learning lesson. For the articles that haven't 'appeared' yet on Article Directories/etc. I strongly recommend your friend submit them to Ezinearticles herself, that way they get indexed/cached before the ones that the 'thief' has. It's the least you can do.

In each country there are rules and laws.
I will try to write proceeding from the realities.
At us laws on protection of copyrights have passed, but they basically do not work. Unless that you will find this person, will collect all proofs and then will give all it in police - only after that something will make.
All dares easier. In the first you had an order - somehow you with the client communicated - icq, skype, e-mail. Plus is a forum or freelance a site - through which there was a transaction - through which administration it is possible to send to the client ardent greetings.
Now under articles - if there is a site, with on which your articles are published, means there is a hosting and the domain. It is possible to address with the claim to a hosting - at us it is effective enough technique - a site at once block. Plus to it it is possible to address to the registrar of the domain - with such claim and the blocking request. Is still registration given on a hosting and the domain - on them too it is possible to leave on the client.
There is only one most intense moment in this all to fuss - if the client is engaged professionally in a deceit - then at it all personal data counterfeit everywhere - and to find it is almost unreal.

Well as for who can write 8 articles a day? Me. I wrote a total of 10 today for 3 different clients. So 120 articles in 15 days is actually an easy task.

I agree with some of the other posters. My policy is to get at least 50% down prior to starting orders of $30 or more.
