A boring website to get more adsense clicks?

I had read a lot about boring websites getting more Adsense clicks because visitors (from SE searches) desperately want to get away by clicking those adsense ads.

    True or false?

    Greetings,

It's not the case always, if you can make it through regular traffic and good stuff , that will be long time earning .

Getting traffic through regular channel is tough unless one has the resources to do heavy online and offline advertising.

what you want is good content, but leave out info for people to search elsewhere for.

I would think you would rather have repeat visitors.

Visitors looking for something will click on relative ad's provided your blending is fairly decent. IMO the best visitors to click on such ad's are those coming from search engines. Keywords are gold.

Yeah it seems to me that if your site is terrible to the degree that it is obvious immedietly upon entering, they will just hit the back browser so fast that when you look at your stats to see how long the visitor was actually on your site they will have left skid marks. I am talking fraction of a second stay time. But if you provide a little good content to tease and then an enticing ad link you will get a nice amount of clicks.

hmmm.. it's much easier to make a crappy website then a good one with content to lure repeat visitors....

but sounds a bit unethical to me.... not sure how this is so but somethings not quite right. I guess, if I was one of the advertisers I probably wouldn't want one a click through from such sites. So to put it harshly, you're really stealing money from the advertisers.

Won't getting traffic from the "other" channels increase your sites "credibility" and then accepted by the regular channels(i.e. google, yahoo, etc.).

True. I have several websites with a good flow of regular repeat visitors but not making much - about a dollar at the most.

You mean to say that you have not been to crappy websites which are ranked highly by the SEs?

For more than three years one of my websites (7-year old with 1,500 + pages) had been listed among the top 5 for a particular popular keword.

Suddenly about two weeks ago.....................ranked on the 3rd page. Replaced by some crappy ones with huge knowledge to beat mislead the SEs.

Now I'm building crappy blogs (with no Adsense ads) with public domain materials automatically posted at regular instervals by a fancy software. SEs love them and being indexed like hell within 2 to 3 days.

Are you telling me that SEs won't indexed and ranked crappy sites.

My site with the best CTR has, in my opinion, the worst content. I mean, the content is relevant, but the articles tend to be short, not very well written, and not very thorough.

My theory is that when people visit a page, read the article, and still need more information, and the only outbound links are (relevant) ads that potentially provide the information they are looking for, they are more likely to click on them than if the page contains an in depth article that thoroughly provided the information they were seeking.

    Lindsay,

I'm waiting for the others to say that you are wrong.

It is not a theory, it is a fact that visitors would be looking for more relevant info - Adsense ads.

    Lindsay,

It is also a fact that many have good info to share with the rest of the world but unfortunately lack the writing skill (time, patience, etc).
