A blog list. Is that spam or not?

We need to find people from specific industry to contact them to offer them a collaboration suggestion. Is allowed to use Google to find personal blogs of persons from that industry and to send them a message to e-mail which is mentioned in the blog?

The message would includes also where we got person e-mail and his/her name, but the content wouldn't differ from other messages.

    Thank you

Hmmm sounds like a grey area and the law is ever so slightly different depending on which country you are in. I personally don't like 'bulk' emails such as this and you might not get a great response. Is this collaboration suggestion a link exchange by any chance?

    Hello,

It depends on how many email you are planing to send. If it's a few emails to found blogs (although I'd recommend using their contact form if they have one) might not pass as spam. But if you use a software that finds those blogs and automatically emails then with the "template" message setup and it sends a rather large number of emails (like 100+) you might have a problem. I did that once for one of my domains and it was marked as spam (don't know where was that flag set), but on a smart whois info it showed my domain as "spam".

Personally I don't like the idea of sending out bulk emails, if I were to embark on something like this I would at least personalize the emails in some way or else the bloggers will realize it anyway (many people attempt these things).
